About MD CAN
The Maryland Citizen Action Network (MD CAN) exists to form a network of communication among liberty-minded individuals and groups throughout the State of Maryland. MD CAN hosts a yearly conference for activists around the state to gather, socialize and learn together as well as several smaller training workshops. Working with numerous groups we seek to present a conservative voice to our State Legislature and provide a needed outlet for bloggers and writers to present their points of view to the world at large.
MD CAN is a tax exempt 501(c)(4) organization.
MD CAN needs volunteers and interns. Are you web or social media savvy and want to help bring more limited government to Maryland? Are you active in groups where you can help promote MD CAN events and initiatives? MD CAN is now a recognized 501(c)(4) group as well so students can earn service hours by volunteering with us.
Front Line State
Front Line State is a project of the Maryland Citizen Action Network (MD CAN)
The name Front Line State is a rejection of the common practice of referring to states as “red” or “blue” states. Calling Maryland a “blue” state implies a permanence that de-activates conservatives. We prefer to view Maryland as the front line in the fight for liberty. As such, Front Line State is a news site but has a limited-government agenda. We are activist citizen journalists. We differ from old media outlets in that we do not pretend to be neutral.
Front Line State is a relatively new project and currently acts as a news aggregator for liberty minded Marylanders, but we have already raised a few stories to national prominence. As we go forward and funding becomes more available we plan to break more news on the site and provide more original video or live streaming content.
We need volunteers and interns to help us make Front Line State a success.
